JOHN PHILLIP DAVIS
When eyeing the work of John Phillip Davis a few
things come to mind: muscularity, quasi-dimensionality,
polarity. Davis weaves a visual
tapestry challenging the viewer to accord the beauty
of line and composition with the controlled chaos at
work on the surface. The result is an unexplained
passion that grows with the viewer. Davis describes
his abstract painting as Post-Modern and Non-Representational. He received his Bachelor of Arts
from Grand View College in both graphic design and
visual art. He has representation around the
Midwest and serves markets worldwide. Davis has a
studio in Des Moines.
