The dramatic compositions of
Marilyn Weiss convey a signature
style of an artist focused on
relationships. Creating and
exhibiting artwork for three decades,
her versatility ranges from Figurative
work to Abstractions to mixed media
drawings to monotypes. Her acuity
for depicting the female figure
portrays a poetic realism and
fantastical expression through a
meticulous use of shape, line and
collage, allowing the viewer to "see"
Weiss' women in the natural earthly
splendor. Weiss was educated at
NYU, The School of Visual Arts,
and the National Academy of the
Arts. She has been featured among
the most prominent collagists and is
listed in Who in American Art and
Who's Who of American Women.
She has exhibited in numerous group
and solo shows, and her work hangs
in important permanent collections
worldwide.
